Trunks, Little Falls, MN
Trunks is a communal bench in the historic district of Little Falls, along side the Mississippi River, 90 miles north of St. Paul/Minneapolis.
The concept incorporates the interrelationship of industries: Logging and Clothing. The Burton Family (whose home is in the background)founded a clothing company to help clothe the timber employees.
This relationship, in a sense, built the large metropolis of St. Paul and Minneapolis, yet rural communities are not often acknowledged for their contribution to the wealth and industry of the urban.
The logs were from fallen ash trees in Foley, Minnesota.
