Ferguson, Missouri, MLK DAY Mother’s March #blacklivesmatter
India Ink on Paper, will be used in peaceful marches on January 19, 2015, in Ferguson, Missouri. I was asked to do these images of local men who have prematurely passed due to this uncertain time in our communities. My cousin is an activist in this cause, and reached out to me. As I reflected on my view that All Lives Matter, and that we need to push through this epidemic and find some systemic change, these pieces are meant to make us realize that we have a long way to go. I did them as a mother, sister, daughter and human.
